No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa introduced him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover anything he could about the game. He routinely would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t let the detrimental feedback from others annihilate his dream of becoming one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started playing seriously after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a learning period and coming away with a win was not a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he made two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated a number of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to hard work and an eternal love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every day and is very humble about his success. He admits to making blunders in each session of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a regular basis.
