No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the number one poker competitor on the planet by quite a few of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching the age of one. His grandpa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup whatever he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the negative feedback from other people kill his dream of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

He started playing seriously after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his skills at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and coming away with a win was not a normal thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. He says that he is learning every day and is very humble about his success. He knows he makes mistakes in each game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
