No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker competitor on the planet by most of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching the age of one. His grandfather introduced him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn everything he possibly could about the game. He routinely would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the detrimental feedback from other people annihilate his dream of being one of the strongest poker competitors in the world.

Phil began competing seriously after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win was not a normal outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed quite a few of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and an eternal love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every single day and is quite abashed about his success. Phil admits to making blunders every single session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a normal basis.
