NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by quite a few of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His papa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to discover everything he could about poker. He would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not allow the negative feedback from others annihilate his goal of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

He began playing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for him were a learning opportunity and winning was not a normal outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed many of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an immeasurable passion for poker. He states that he is picking up skills every single day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. He knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and always aspires to improve.

Even though Ivey has won some big tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a normal basis.
