No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the planet by many of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching turning 1. His grandfather taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to pickup every little thing he could about the game. Phil routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the adverse comments from other people annihilate his dream of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.

Phil began competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he destroyed a number of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to discipline and a continuing love for poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. Phil knows he makes errors every single game of poker and always aspires to improve.

Although Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a normal basis.
