No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker contender on the globe by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover everything he could about the game. He routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the detrimental feedback from others annihilate his goal of being one of the strongest poker players on the planet.

Phil started playing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching period and winning was not a normal outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved 2 final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his success to dedication and a continuing love for the game of poker. Phil states that he is learning every day and is incredibly abashed about his success. He knows he makes mistakes every single session of poker and always strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a normal basis.
