NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker competitor on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to pickup whatever he could about the game. He routinely would tell his grandparents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse feedback from others annihilate his goal of being one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started competing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated a number of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an eternal love for poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his achievements. Phil knows he makes errors every single game of poker and always strives to get better.

Although Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he favors destroying cash games on a regular basis.
